Developing leaders Is a job that never comes to an end. Literally - when an organization stops growing leaders, it stops growing. And keep in mind, there is no such thing as a quick fix, so let go of the microwave mind-set for leadership. It's not an instant process. It's slow - think Crock-Pot.
"Leaders develop daily, not in a day." John C Maxwell
Grow a leader, grow an organization.
A company cannot grow out until its leaders growth within. This is because the strength of any organization is a direct result of the strength of its leaders:
Weak leaders = weak organizations.
Strong leaders = strong organizations
The first law of leadership (from Maxwell's The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership) is called the Law of the Lid. It states the leadership ability determines a person's level of effectiveness. So, how well you lead determines how well you succeed. And this is true for an individual and for a group. A group of average leaders cannot build an above average company.
Management expert Peter Drucker said,
"No executive every suffered because his subordinates were strong and effective."
