Persistence

Of all the chapters in Think and Grow Rich, the chapter on persistence will make the most

difference in most of our lives. John Maxwell often reminds me that anything worthwhile is uphill. There is no such thing as coasting because there is only one direction that coasting works, and that is going downhill. If leadership and personal growth were easy, everyone would do it. It takes dogged determination. So many people think that if I were meant to be good, it would come easy. Says who? The greatest athletes work really hard at what they do. And those that contribute the most significantly to making our world a better place, work really hard at that, too. Consider which of your successes means the most to you? Was it easy? Or did it require significant effort? Most likely, the success that you are most proud of is one that you had to work really hard to achieve.
