Matthew 7:24-25 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into
practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."
Matthew 7:24–25 is one of the most famous Bible verses for children to learn. And while the foundation pun intended of this verse is that our faith is based on the rock of our salvation, Jesus Christ. There is more depth to this verse.
This verse talks about adversity and how to overcome adversity. When the rains came down and the storms rose and the winds blew the house did not fall because it was on the solid foundation of a rock. But the reason that it was on that foundation of the rock was that the builder listened to the words of Christ and put into practice what he heard. The builder took responsibility for where the house and when adversity came, which it always does, the house stood.
