Discipleship [Growth] Gaps (Part 5: The Comparison Gap)

The Comparison Gap - “Others are better than I am.”

I have often found myself wishing John Maxwell, Billy Graham, or Tom Osborne were in my

presence as I was leading. Surely they would know what to do or say that would be perfect for this moment. In these moments it is easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to someone who has demonstrated greatness and find ourselves wanting.

Yet, they aren’t there. God has us there because he has prepared that moment. We are the ones he wants to speak through on those occasions. When we prepare for these moments we are able to let go, be quiet, and let Him speak through me. Because unlike John Maxwell God can show up in that moment. Are you prepared to let him?
